Iskandar Jani

Iskandar Jani (b. 1994, Belgium) is a Brussels-based artist and designer. In 2021, he established Atelier Iskandar, a design studio with the intent to resist the constant standardization of our environments by viewing the process of creation as a form of total experimentation. His approach embraces error, imperfection, and risk as part of the creative act, allowing for anomalies to emerge naturally.

The term “anomaly” refers to something that deviates from what is standard, normal, or expected. For Iskandar, the goal is to value these differences, seeing them as sources of innovation and inspiration. In a world that tends towards uniformity, honoring anomalies becomes a strength. His philosophy is centered around the idea that one day, these emerging differences might become the new standard: “When anomalies become the standard.”

All of his artworks and furniture are signed and produced as numbered editions, coming with a certificate of authenticity. They are designed and produced in Belgium, using honest materials and quality craftsmanship.
